  • Will there be crying involved?
Crying is your baby's way of protesting change before he/she is verbal. People tend to be very protective of their sleep environment, and your child is no exception. We will definitely be met with some protest when we are making a big change to his/her sleep habits. However, you will not be asked to leave your child alone to cry if that's not something you are comfortable with.
  • When will my baby sleep through the night?
At about 4 to 6 months, by about 6 kg, babies are biologically ready to sleep through the night. If your little one has hit the milestone but is still waking up multiple times for milk, it is likely due to dependency on sleep props.
  • Will sleep training negatively affect parent-child attachment?
A study conducted by the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2016 found that sleep training techniques like "graduated extinction" and "bedtime fading" provide significant sleep benefits, yet convey no adverse stress responses or long term effect on parent-child attachment or child emotions and behavior. Some studies even suggest that it can potentially strengthen the attachment by improving parental sleep and reduce overall stress levels.
